Hensel Grand softboxes are highly popular: thanks to their deep design, these nearly circular softboxes produce light with noticeably more dimension - or "plasticity" - than typical octagonal softboxes. However, many portrait and fashion photographers desire even more striking, high-contrast lighting. To address this, Hensel has developed the "Bounce Adapter" - a specialized stand mount with an integrated speed ring that allows Hensel compact flashes and flash heads to be mounted indirectly within the Grand softboxes.

This configuration results in greater brilliance, superior shadow definition, and a higher light output compared to using a standard speed ring for direct mounting. With the Bounce Adapter, the Grand softboxes effectively become giant reflectors, which can also be used optimally without their front or internal diffusers.

Furthermore, the Bounce Adapter - designed and manufactured in Germany - is built for exceptional mechanical stability. A detachable rod allows for precise alignment and balancing of the entire unit using a counterweight or a weight bag (an eyelet is built in). This makes handling significantly easier, especially when using the Grand 190 or Octabox 200.

The integrated tilt mechanism attaches to professional light stands via a 28mm spigot, while also featuring a 16mm socket for use with smaller stands. In addition to the Grand softboxes (available in 90 cm, 120 cm, and 190 cm diameters), the Bounce Adapter is also compatible with Hensel’s Octabox 120, 150, and 200 models. The adapter comes with a safety cable for the flash unit and a weight bag.
